About Attorney Julianne Campbell
Attorney Campbell founded JC Advocacy after over a decade spent working as a prosecutor, handling grand jury investigations as well as appearing on motions and at trial in cases involving some of the Commonwealth's most serious criminal charges. That vantage point, rare in either direction alone, shapes how she reads a case: not for what makes a good argument, but for what actually holds up.
A career built inside the system before working against its errors.
Attorney Campbell spent her early career as a prosecutor, handling criminal matters across Suffolk, Middlesex, Bristol, and Plymouth Counties. Her experience spanned trial and appellate work, from misdemeanor matters through the most serious felony prosecutions, including crimes of violence and homicide cases. That work required equal parts legal precision and judgment under pressure.
Turning that experience toward defending the record.
That prosecutorial experience gave Attorney Campbell a uniquely direct education in how criminal cases are built, and just as importantly, in where they go wrong. Bringing that perspective to defense and appellate work means evaluating a case the way both sides eventually will: for what the record actually supports, and where it doesn't.
She has appeared before the Massachusetts Appeals Court and Supreme Judicial Court dozens of times. The appellate issues she has handled have addressed novel questions of law, statutory interpretation, evidentiary issues, ineffective assistance of counsel claims, and claims related to exculpatory evidence, among others.
Since founding JC Advocacy, she has focused her practice on criminal appeals, post-conviction relief, and strategic trial representation in District and Superior Court, along with associated-counsel and contract brief-writing work for other attorneys. Across all of it, the through-line is the same: careful analysis and disciplined written advocacy, applied to cases where the stakes rarely allow for anything less.
